Adopt-A-Dog assists in rescuing 10 Beagles from a NJ research facility

On July 2, animal advocacy groups Pets Alive, Best Friends Animal Society and Win Animal Rights, rescued 120 Beagles from an animal testing lab, AniClin, in New Jersey that had gone bankrupt.

At Best Friend's request, Adopt-A-Dog staff went to Pets Alive in Middletown, NY to meet the Beagles and take custody of 10.  “We are working with the dogs to socialize them and prepare them for adoption,” says Brian Gordiski, administrator at Adopt-A-Dog, Inc. “They are starting to experience the life of a ‘real dog,’ not a lab specimen.”

Currently Adopt-A-Dog Staff and Volunteers are spending as much time as possible teaching our Beagles how to  play, walk on a lead and enjoy being free from confinement.

We are starting to accept applications at this time.  Dogs will be available for adoption once vaccines and spaying or neutering has been done.  For more details about adopting, please go to our DOG ADOPTION PAGE.  For general questions, please contact our shelter at 914-273-1674 or info@adoptadog.org.  Donations are welcome to help Adopt-A-Dog continue it's mission of "coming to the rescue" and providing care for the animals in our shelter.

Adopt-A-Dog was not the only shelter to assist.  Please CLICK HERE to read the article Best Friend's Animal Society wrote about the rescue.
