When Marshmallow arrived at our shelter, we had no idea what a bubbly and excitable dog he would be! Marshmallow has an infectious enthusiasm for his friends and playtime and is almost too sugary-sweet with his affection. We think he is around 2 years old, and has been working on his manners with other dogs. Marshmallow would thrive in a home with adults, and our Adoptions team would be more than happy to speak to you further about him. Read more below!
It's not just his adorable appearance that lent Marshmallow his name, but his ultra-soft and sweet personality when he has made a new friend. Playful, exuberant and downright giddy when playtime comes around, Marshmallow loves getting out to the yard and snuggling up with his people when they're not playing. There's nothing we love to see more than Marshmallow's smile as he has had a long journey to get to us.
We first met Marshmallow when he was found running along a local road in pretty strange circumstances. He had a muzzle on that was too tight, and another collar. Having no idea what had happened to Marshmallow before he ended up near our shelter, we set out to make sure he knew from that day forward he was going to be loved and cared for. Given how we had met him, it made sense that Marshmallow needs more time to get to know new people. Once he has settled in a new place, he is wary of strangers and needs more time to get to know someone. A potential adopter would come by the shelter a few times to get to know him and our Shelter and Behavior Manager would be able to explain in-depth how to transition Marshmallow into a home. Once he has opened up, he is an absolute gem of a dog. Marshmallow is smart, loving, and affectionate all wrapped in a cute package.
