It should only take a few minutes and will help us learn more about you. We love people visiting the shelter, and you are welcome to do so, but we do require an approved application prior to meeting the dogs.

Adoptions Process:
The following process is in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and success of our dogs in their new homes. The adoptions staff reserves the right to make exceptions to these policies at their discretion, but only in extreme cases to accommodate the placement of a dog that may otherwise struggle to find the right home.Â
- Fill out a brief application here, ensuring all information is accurate and complete. Inaccurate or incomplete information will result in the application being denied.Â
- Adopt-A-Dog will review the application, inclusive of checking vet, personal, and landlord references.Â
- Once approved, you’ll be able to schedule a Meet & Greet at the shelter to meet available dogs.
- Once you’ve found your match, adopters will complete an adoption contract and provide payment prior to taking the dog home.
Please Note: Prospective adopters must have an approved application in order to meet dogs. Approved applications do not obligate you to adopt from Adopt-A-Dog and are good for up to 1 year in your search for the perfect companion.
